Wow. I can't believe January is over. Only 4 more months of school til graduation. Senioritis is definitely kicking in.

We got to practice being parents (my favorite) and had my little neice, McKenna, for a sleep over last night. It was so fun trying to put her to sleep and listen to her scream bloody murder for an hour. She did however sleep through the whole night and woke up in a great mood. I definitely like morning McKenna better than nighttime McKenna. Does that make me a bad Aunt?

We went bowling tonight with our friends the Wagners and a few of their friends. I won two of three games! Holla. I still got it.

I spent a good part of my day at the Military Spouse Symposium at Convention Center. I got to hear advice and expertise on gaining employment while living the military lifestyle. It was so empowering and it was nice to know I wasn't alone in the working military spouse department.
On a side note, if Brandon hadn't pushed back his orders due to my school, we would have found out where we would be moving to today. Strange. I'm sure the next few months will go by super fast and in no time this day will come for us. I'm so excited for our adventure!

I put my wedding dress on just for fun and twirled around the house. I haven't taken it to the cleaners yet. There is orange icing stains all over and the bottom is covered in dirt. I almost don't want to clean my dress...it will erase the memories of the best night that dress will ever see (and me for that matter). After I took it off and laid it on the bed, Penelope thought it was a good place to take a nap.

The trees by my house are all blooming little white flowers. They are so pretty.

I finally traded in my old pink Jansport backpack for a more professional (boring!) black laptop bag. My Jansport has been going for rides on my back since high school, over 10 years ago! It has been to many classes at Valhalla, SDSU, and Alliant, and has been on many road trips and airplane rides and has never let me down. I still love you, pink Jansport with a faint outline of where a super cool rhinestone star used to be, but unfortunately, I have to grow up and use a black laptop bag so people will take me more seriously...and hopefully they will give me a job!

La Mesa is starting to get some cute little fabulous restaurants. We went to dinner at Gingham, or Gingrich as Brandon calls it. It's trendy and awesome and the whole time I thought about my sister Jamie, who would love this place. I had a pomegranate root beer (delicious!), some yummy mashed potatoes and chicken, and sweet n' salty frosting for dessert. Oh and we had brussel sprouts too...we tried to off set our heart attack dinner by eating something healthy. But they were fried so I'm not sure that helped. But thing that's for sure is we'll be back! And I can't wait to try the other restaurants by this same chef/owner. They are all named after fabrics! How amazing.

First, Happy Birthday to my biggest brother Jonas. When I called him today he told me he had just landed in Hawaii. I stopped feeling bad for how old he was getting.
Then for the main attraction, I busted out my inner East County and went to Monster Jam tonight with bff Lindsey, her fiance Duane and Brandon. The boys were so cute, standing up and cheering for the trucks when they did a cool jump. Lindsey and I sat and talked the whole time and wondered where the mute button was at. It's hard hearing over those loud engines! Nonetheless, it was a really fun night. <3

The word of the weekend is RELAX. I think this is a good way to get started.

This is really happening!!! Only 4 more months left of grad school. I am so excited for graduation!!!
1.18.2012
Cake Mix Rice Krispie Treats! I made them for my class tomorrow night, but I'm not sure these are gonna last that long! Thanks to Pinterest for another awesome idea.

My first trip to the Navy Exchange! It's much bigger and was less crowded than the MCX. And they had a lot more clothes. ;)

Brandon and I headed up the coast in search of an adventure today. When our planned activity had a 3 hour wait, we decided to grab some Starbucks and hang out at the beach for a while. It was cold and cloudy, but the waves crashing and the brief moments when the sunbeams broke through the clouds made for a beautiful scene. I think I am going to do adventures all over San Diego from now until we move...I need to take advantage of this amazing city while I can!

The Cravory cookies are hands down the best! They only sell them at select farmers markets and online. I hope they open a store soon because they are sooo delicious. The birthday cake ones are my favorite!

My sister in law Megan and my nephew Zealand came for a visit to San Diego all the way from Italy, where my brother is currently stationed. We had a celebration at the park today with the family so all the cousins could play. These are my nieces and nephews...minus 3 (Jonas and Amy's kiddos) AND we have a baby nephew on the way!!! I love these kids. I will be so sad when I live far away and can't pick them up from school, have sleep overs and take them on auntie dates.

It took forever to get the balloon guy to come over to our table. Adults like balloons too! Hello Kitty balloon animal...it must be my lucky day!

I walked around Lake Murray today with my friend Lisa. Lisa and I have been friends for 10+ years, but haven't seen each other in almost 2! It was so nice to catch up, talk about our lives and such. I love old friends because they already know all about you and you don't have to explain things. I love my new friends too, but with old friends you can just pick up where you left off. It was a great day for a walk too and the lake is always so pretty. Brawley enjoyed chasing the ducks and squirrels, although he did make it difficult to walk at times. I was reminded today how important it is to stay in touch with friends and how grateful I should be that I live so close to the lake!

Brawley doesn't like taking showers. He's so cute though. I have the best dog!

Today I substituted in first grade. I love writing my name on the board for some reason. It makes me feel official and professional and like I'm a big deal or something. Anyways, I am having a hard time letting go of my last name. I like it. It's been my last name for 27 years and it just sounds good with my first name. Plus, it's easier for kids to pronounce than "Croniser." Brandon just says that "Mrs. Sanders" makes it seem like I married my brother.
1.9.2012
I didn't get to hang out with Eleni as planned, but I still got sushi! Love Banbu to go.
1.8.2012
Happy 3 Month Wedding Anniversary to Brandon and I! We made it longer than Kim Kardashian's marriage...so that's gotta be a good sign. We celebrated by trying out the famous burger at the Farm House Cafe. This cute little duck family is painted on the side of the building. That's quacktastic.
1.7.2012
The bridge to our never ending hike to find a non-exsistent pond. We had a good time though...got a nice workout, saw a snake and got in some quality conversations.
1.6.2012
Pedialyte and flowers. My husband sure knows how to cure an upset stomach and a sad heart.

This morning my bff Autumn and her little family started their journey to Florida, where they will be stationed at. Autumn and I met back in 2008 and have been friends ever since. Brandon and Autumn's husband, Gary, worked together. The Marine Corps ball was coming up and the guys wanted their wives/girlfriends to meet before so we would all know eachother at the ball. Since then Autumn and I have been on lots of adventures together and have endured some hard times together as well. Some of the most memorable times include the boys deployment to Iraq in 2009, Milla's birth and my wedding. I am so lucky that I was able to meet Autumn and have her become family. Saying goodbye to her was really hard. I've never had a bff move far away (besides my sisters). Unfortunately, I believe I have a lifetime ahead of me of the military forcing me to say goodbye to good friends. Here's hoping to us being stationed at the same place someday!
1.4.2012
Tonight we met with a family friend's son who will be going to bootcamp next week. My dad asked if Brandon could talk to him and answer some questions that he had about bootcamp. As Brandon proceeded to tell him stories of bootcamp and the Marine Corps in general, I realized how proud I am of Brandon. Bootcamp for the USMC is the hardest and the longest out of all the branches. I am amazed that Brandon and so many other men and women survive and graduate from it. Brandon has orders to go recruiting for the Marine Corps later this year. After talking with the new recruit, I know Brandon will be a great recruiter. Let's just hope we get stationed some place with a Target and a job for me.

Back to school. I started Winter Intersession today. Not so happy to go to class every Tuesday and Thursday but super happy that graduation is in sight.
1.2.2012
We got to babysit our friends the Steinmetz's baby, Milla, while they went out to dinner. We had so much fun playing with this cute little girl. I saw her when she was just a few hours old and now she is thousands of hours old. We will miss her and her parents when they move to Florida. But side note, Brandon looks good with a baby huh? ;)

Happy New Year!
2011 proved to be a great year for me. As I reflect back on the last 365, I am filled with gratitude, for I am blessed beyond measure. This past year, many of my dreams come true - things I have thought about and yearned for since I was a little girl. My most favorite parts of 2011 include:
1. Getting married to my best friend
2. Getting engaged, with all my friends and family around
3. Going to London and Paris with my sisters
4. Rescuing the best and cutest puppy in the whole world, Brawley
4. Going on a hot air balloon ride with one of my bff's
5. Finishing my first year of graduate school
2011 will be a hard year to top, but I have a feeling that 2012 will be just as great. I am looking forward the adventures that this year will hold. I will be graduating with my master's degree, starting an internship for my credential, moving!!! and hopefully going on some awesome vacations - oh and my bff Lindsey will be getting married! This year looks fantastic already.
